Here we are, in one of the most beautiful venues/resorts of Punta Cana, Sanctuary Cap Cana.
When I received an inquiry from the couple, I could not believe I will have wedding there, in the most exclusive adults only all-inclusive resort.
Sanctuary Cap Cana resort is located in Cap Cana, a private gated community retreat inside Punta Cana. Cap Cana is made up of 30,000 acres of flawless beaches, and oceanfront valley roads. It is the ideal destination for any type of traveler, with a variety of things to do, high quality restaurants, and it is especially elegant for the weddings.
The suites and villas at Sanctuary are designed to complement the predominately Spanish Colonial architecture of the property, featuring rich wood accents, tropical rattan furnishings and elegant coral bathrooms. All suites and villas feature furnished balconies or terraces and most of them with gorgeous ocean views.
The rooms where you are staying are designed so that you can feel at home or in a large private villa.
Getting ready of the bride and groom took place precisely in such huge separate villas (they call it rooms here hehe) and there was where to turn around. (Look at the wedding photos they speak for themselves).
Then the ceremony was on the Punta Cana Terrace with the beautiful ocean view. It was a private wedding ceremony with only 30 guests, but so touching and emotional...
And it was not at all without tradition. The couple jumped over a "broomstick". This broom ceremony represents the joining of two families, it's showing respect and pays homage to those who came before and paved the way. Therefore it should be practiced with honor for your ancestors and the beauty of your rich heritage. What a beautiful tradition!!
And my favorite part, a little story about my gorgeous couple.
Keenan and Crystal first met at an evening school event at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. “I actually wasn’t going to go - but a few friends convinced me to stop by, so I went.” -Crystal
Keenan tried to capture Crystal’s attention the moment he saw her, but Crystal naively didn’t notice. Keenan still claims to this day that Crystal ignored him and closed the elevator door in his face!
3 weeks went by, and Keenan attended an event that Crystal’s organization was having on campus. Shortly after, Keenan reached out to Crystal on Facebook. Small talk, “great event” turned into them exchanging numbers and Keenan setting up a group date with mutual friends. And The rest is history!
Keenan proposed in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, with a romantic dinner on the beach! It was a beautiful night, and the perfect way to end a wonderful vacation. Keenan picked out Crystal’s clothes and jewelry, laid them out before dinner, and surprised her with a romantic dinner on the beach. Prayer over the food turned into Keenan getting on 1 knee and asking for Crystals hand in marriage.
Keenan and Crystal loooove to travel! They’ve been to Bermuda, Jamaica, Europe, Dominican Republic, St Maarten, Anguilla, Mexico and more! They also love to spend time watching sports, and going to the movies.
Their Relationship in 1 word: Christ-centered.
They had dreamed of getting married on the shore of the ocean and their dream came true...what a wonderful story!
